Another transfer window brings a flurry of activity and with it another transfer thread
In the 2024/25 season, the Premier League spent £2.62B and sold £0.85B in players, with a net spend of £1.77B.
With a surprising 2 teams at the top of the chart with Brighton (£194.2m) and Ipswich (£156.1m) leading the way. Teams at the top end of the table in Arsenal and Liverpool both have a negative netspend this season
Citys near £200m winter window pushed them from the bottom of spenders at the summer window to the top 4 in spending this season behind United, Chelsea and Brighton
While Aston Villas winter activity sent them to the top of Sales chart with John Dhuran exiting for a massive fee.
Below are the biggest Purchases and Sales over the 2024/25 season (all fees are inclusive of add ons)
Over the last 5 seasons PL clubs have spent £11.68B with sales £6.69B.
A continuing trend from the previous 2 seasons which sees a spend over £2bn per season.
The Premier League's last 5 year net transfer chart is led by Chelsea at £866M, followed by Man Utd (£641M) and Spurs (£542M). Everton spent the least with a net of -£20M.Even with Citys near £200m winter outlay they went from dead last at (-£70m) to 14th (£111m)
This also pushes Citys spending into 3rd place. Chelseas £1.6bn over the last 5 years is still by far the highest in the league almost doubling the nearest team
However both City and Chelsea are by far the 2 best selling teams in the league with both teams over £700m in sales over 5 seasons. Brighton, Wolves and Aston Villa round up the top 5.
Omar Marmoushs £63.4m transfer is the only transfer that joins the last 5 seasons biggest transfers alongsides Solankes summer window transfer
